ALSSP Certified – Lean Six Sigma Black Belt
The ALSSP Certified – Lean Six Sigma Black Belt (ACBB™) is a professional who is well versed in the Lean Six Sigma Methodology, who leads complex improvement projects, typically in a full-time capacity. A Lean Six Sigma Black Belt possesses a thorough understanding of all aspects of the Lean Six Sigma Method including a high-level of competence in the subject matters contained within the phases of Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve and Control (DMAIC) as defined by the ALSSP Universal Lean Six Sigma Body of Knowledge. A Lean Six Sigma Black Belt understands how to implement, perform, interpret and apply Lean Six Sigma at an advanced level of proficiency.
Certification Testing
The ALSSP Lean Six Sigma Black Belt certification is a 150 question, open book test with a 3-hour suggested time. Some forms of this exam may also include up to an additional 15 non-graded questions. The Exam contains multiple-choice and true/false questions from each and every major section of the ALSSP Universal Lean Six Sigma Body of Knowledge and is administered online throughout the world via proprietary ALSSP Web-Based On-Demand testing system.
Requirements
In order to achieve the professional designation of ALSSP Certified Black Belt (ALSSP-CBB™ or ACBB™) from the global Association of Lean Six Sigma Professionals, candidates must sit for the ALSSP Lean Six Sigma Black Belt certification and achieve a minimum score of 70%.
There are no prerequisites required in order to sit for the ALSSP Lean Six Sigma Black Belt Certification. For more about this see FAQ’s and the ALSSP position on knowledge and application. Purchase a Black Belt Exam Token through the link provided below.
Preparation
For those who wish to sit for the exam it is recommended, but not required, that Lean Six Sigma training is obtained through a qualified institution, Lean Six Sigma trainer or corporate program. It is also recommended, although not required, that those sitting for the exam have some degree of real-world Lean Six Sigma work experience and project application experience. ALSSP offers an (informal) Black Belt Prelim Lean Six Sigma Mock Exam that may help you determine if you are ready to sit for an official Black Belt Certification Exam.
Certification, Ongoing Professional Development and Designation Usage
Upon successful achievement, Professionals will receive ALSSP Black Belt Certification issued by the Association of Lean Six Sigma Professionals, a true independent third-party Certification Association within the Lean Six Sigma Industry.
The ALSSP Certificate is recognized continually and does not need any re-certification, but you do need to maintain membership with ALSSP to continue using the designation (ALSSP-CBB™ or ACBB™). The membership basically ensures your continuous professional development in the field.
An ALSSP Certified Black Belt is issued a Certificate (PDF) which includes a Certification Number, a badge (.png file), added to the Official ALSSP Certification Register and granted the right to use the ALSSP Certification Marks and Titles; a professional designation which may be used in resumes and public profiles such as LinkedIn.
